First of the Month Favorites: My Go-To Specialty Stores
I spend a lot of time in and out of houses around Central Oregon, which means I also spend a lot of time discovering the small, independent shops tucked into our towns — the ones with real character, real people behind the counter, and products you won't find at a big box store.
This month, I'm sharing the specialty stores I keep coming back to.
Rescued Living — Sisters
This is one of my favorite home decor stores, full stop. It's beautifully curated, the furniture is gorgeous, and the selection runs deep — candles, pillows, rugs, artwork, the perfect piece for entertaining, and gifts that always make an impact. Their Christmas and holiday setup is truly next level so mark your calendars now. Rescued Living is worth the drive to Sisters on its own.
West Coast Provisions — Bend
A foodie paradise. This is where I go for hard-to-find gourmet products, fresh veggies, and a wine department that puts most others to shame — think artisan, low-intervention wines alongside craft beer and cider. Add in chocolate, unique home goods and kitchenware, cards, and gifts, with a real focus on products from Oregon and the surrounding region, and it's an easy stop on Bend's westside.
Furnish Hope & Home — Bend
Furnish Hope is a local nonprofit with a mission that gets me every time: transforming empty houses into furnished homes for neighbors in need. Their resale store is stocked entirely with donated pieces — and the quality is genuinely upscale. I shop here for my own home and often for clients when I'm staging or prepping a home for sale. It's proof that doing good and finding beautiful pieces aren't mutually exclusive.
Local Paws — Redmond
My go-to for pet food and supplies, for both dogs and cats. The staff is incredibly helpful — they walked me through transitioning Freya to a raw diet with real patience and expertise. They also carry great outdoor gear for your furry adventure buddy. If you have a pet with specific needs, this is the place that will actually help you figure it out.
Pomegranate Home and Garden — Bend
Tucked just off the beaten path near the Bend River Mall, in the historic Boyd Homestead, Pomegranate is a hidden gem. I was ecstatic to see the shop still open and thriving under a new family — every bit the destination for beauty, joy, and special experiences it's always been. Fine culinary tools, local artisan soaps and candles, puzzles and much more, plus a keen selection of garden tools and art, all feel like handpicked treasures. It's the kind of shop where you go in for a gift and end up treating yourself.
Goody’s — Sunriver
Home to locally made chocolates, ice cream, gourmet popcorn, and every kind of sweet treat you could want. A perfect stop whether you're heading out for the day in Sunriver or just need a reason to make the trip. Grab a seasonal milkshake, find a spot in the shade and soak in everything that is going on in the Sunriver Village. Or stop by their downtown Bend store too.
Central Oregon Locavore — Bend
Locavore is a nonprofit grocery store and farmers market open every day, stocked with fresh produce, locally farmed meats, and all kinds of marvelous pantry goods, personal care items and locally-made gifts. What I love most: every dollar spent here stays in the community and goes directly to supporting local producers.
